The big problem with The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR is undoubtedly the fun time, because the prepared attractions can end in less than four hours. Don’t expect an interesting plot or specific plot twists – from the beginning of the game we receive two weapons in our hands, we shoot at more monsters in the form of, for example, zombies, mutants or gargoyles, and only from time to time there are smaller attractions.ĭuring the game, I had the impression that the developers at the very beginning of the development came up with the idea of providing an interesting plot, but at some point they decided to play far too simple, in which the story is the background to the gameplay. The main character is a nameless character who ends up in a single trolley and has the opportunity to make his way through several short levels inspired by the first season of The Dark Pictures anthology. If you’ve played Until Dawn: Rush of Blood, you know what to expect from the reviewed The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR. The assumptions of The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR are not surprising Unfortunately, the developers have not learned the lesson in the slightest to offer players something more than a short rail shooter. The creators of the first PS VR came up with an interesting idea and took advantage of the popularity of Until Dawn – the latest position draws heavily from the game released in 2016. Horizon Call of the Mountain is the best showcase of PlayStation VR2 capabilities from Sony’s first-party teams, and I sincerely hoped that The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR as a third-party position, it will follow this path, providing players with an excellent experience. The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR should be one of those productions, but developers do not use the power of their IP. PlayStation VR2 needs many strong games that will show the potential of the Sony device and encourage more players to buy new VR goggles.
